Nicole Lopez-Alvar Shares Emotional Post About Her Twin Brother’s Cancer Diagnosis
In our thoughts.
Bachelor Nation fans first met Nicole Lopez-Alvar on Season 23 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned for Season 6 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
If you watched Nicole on the shows or follow her on social media, you know how important her relationship is with her twin brother AJ.
AJ has autism and Nicole has been a lifelong advocate for him.

And now, she just took to Instagram to share that AJ was diagnosed with cancer.
Alongside videos with her twin brother, Nicole wrote, “I just got home from the hospital with AJ, and I know that if he could, he’d share his story to help others. Just before our 30th birthday, AJ was diagnosed with testicular cancer. While rare, testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer in men between the ages of 15 and 35. AJ has autism, so he wasn’t able to tell us something was wrong.”
The Bachelor Nation star went on, saying, “However, it’s a highly curable cancer — especially if treated early. Creating a culture of self-examination increases the chances of early stage diagnosis, when testicular cancer is almost 100% curable.”

Nicole created a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and will be running the Relay for Life in Miami in April of next year.
She noted on her post, “Early detection saves lives, and I know if he could, he’d be spreading this same message.”
Many of Nicole’s fellow Bachelor Nation stars shared their love and support for Nicole and her whole family during this difficult time.
We’re keeping their family in our thoughts and wishing AJ a speedy recovery.
