Bachelor Nation: Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day, you two! Is there a type of food you find to be the most romantic?

Chris Conran: Thank you! For me, it’s gotta be whipped cream on a beach, but only if I get to lick it off Alana’s sandy toes. Haha, but in all seriousness, french fries with a good roasted garlic aioli. I always give Alana the best extra crispy pieces and feed them to her.
Alana Milne: He really does! And I think cooking for someone is one of the most intimate things you can do. It’s a nurturing and creative way to show love. So I think anything you make for someone you love can be romantic!
BN: So true! What is your favorite meal your significant other has made for you?
CC: Everything Alana makes is amazing, but my favorite was probably her from-scratch fettuccine with a vegan lemon crème sauce and crusted shrimp. Absolutely phenomenal and I’m craving it right now.

AM: Awww, thank you. The first time Chris cooked for me in the summer of 2021, he made an amazing meal. One of the appetizers was spicy salmon crispy rice. Since then it’s been one of my favorite things to eat! So good!
BN: Yum! Those both sound amazing. What is your favorite meal you’ve made for your significant other?
CC: I love making multiple dishes (sharing style) and it was probably that first real night I cooked for her. I made shrimp fried rice, fresh spring rolls, edamame egg rolls, and a spicy salmon musubi. We don’t really follow recipes, we just love having fun in the kitchen together and creating something unique each time.
AM: I’ve made Chris so many meals, but one of the things I made him that stood out the most was s’mores cookies when we first started dating. We were dating long distance and I brought him cookies, he looked at me like it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for him, plus he loved the cookies. I’ll never forget that!
BN: So sweet! Do you two have any plans for a romantic Valentine’s Day meal?
AM: Yes! If you want to know how to make Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice, we posted a reel on Instagram with the recipe that’s below :)

But for Valentine’s, we’re going to whip up these vegan s’mores cookies. The recipe and instructions are below!
Vegan s’mores cookies
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil — REFINED. If you get unrefined, it’ll make the cookies taste like coconut oil — not good. ALSO, THIS IS IMPORTANT: Make sure that it is pretty solid and not melted at all when you mix it in. I suggest refrigerating for a bit before. Trader Joe’s is the best place to get refined coconut oil.
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup nondairy milk — tastes best when you use a thicker milk. I like to use the coconut milk from a can, full fat.
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Dandies (brand name) Marshmallows (if not vegan, use regular marshmallows). Amount is up to preference. I get the little ones and tear them in half. As many or as few as you would like.
Graham crackers
2 cups of chocolate chips (get nondairy if you want it to be vegan!)
Flaky sea salt (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 before you mix anything.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, mix together coconut oil, vanilla, and brown sugar. Then add the applesauce and coconut milk. Add the dry to the wet bowl, stir until combined.
Add in the majority of the chocolate chips, leaving about 1/4 cup out. Add the marshmallows.
Size determines baking time: Large cookies bake for ~9 minutes. Smaller cookies bake for ~6. Keep an eye on them! They will continue to harden once they come out of the oven
When you take them out, press chocolate chips into the tops immediately and sprinkle a bit of flaky sea salt (if you like that kind of thing) and sprinkle crushed graham cracker on top,
Wait 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack for ~20 minutes. Try not to eat them all within 2 minutes!
