Throwing it back!

As we kick off Season 20 of “The Bachelorette,” this week we’re looking back at an iconic moment in Bachelorette history.

This week in 2021, Blake Moynes famously joined Katie Thurston’s season of “The Bachelorette” during the fourth episode.

During the episode, host Tayshia Adams went to Katie’s room and let her know that a man reached out because he “passionately” believes that he and Katie would be an “amazing match.”

Tayshia shared that she thought this person was genuine and had “good intentions,” but she wouldn’t tell Katie who it was before she met him.

Katie was apprehensive at first because she didn’t want to damage the relationships she’d already been forming, but she decided to go ahead and take the risk.

When Katie walked over, she was pleasantly surprised to find Blake waiting for her and ran over to give him a hug.

Blake shared why he needed to shoot his shot with Katie, saying that he had been intrigued by her since her time on Matt James’ season and said, “Your openness, you’re bold, you have this playfulness to you, and a humor I can really relate to for sure. I don’t know what you’re thinking right now, and it’s driving me nuts.”

Katie revealed that she and Blake had communicated before and that he had slid into her DMs.

And while she called him handsome, Katie also expressed her concerns, saying, “It is concerning that you’ve dated, at this point, two Bachelorettes. If you stay, I will now be your third Bachelorette… In the house, there’s been a lot of drama about who’s here for the right reasons and who’s not.”

Blake understood where Katie was coming from and responded, “I completely get that. I wish I could have met you in other circumstances. This is the last place I want to do this. I promise you that if it came down to the end and we connected the way that I think that we might, we would be engaged at the end of this.”

Katie took some time to think things over and after the Rose Ceremony at the end of the episode, she went to the hotel room where Blake was staying.
