Michelle Young Shares Why ‘Health Struggles’ Kept Her from Going to Madagascar with Blake Moynes

If you’ve been keeping up with Blake Moynes, you know that he’s currently in Madagascar with fellow Bachelor Nation stars Kendall Long and Samantha Jeffries on a lemur conservation trip.
Former Bachelorette Michelle Young was originally supposed to go with them, but just took to her Instagram Stories to reveal why she isn’t there.
Michelle opened up, saying, “This was really hard for me to not be able to go. When I got home to Minnesota, I ended up having a lot of issues with my lungs. I developed pneumonia several times. I was on so many rounds of antibiotics, the doctor thought I may have mold in my lungs at one point. I was coughing to the point where I would vomit.”
She continued on, saying, “Massive amounts of phlegm, sorry that’s so gross TMI. Ultimately, I had a lot of issues with breathing and I couldn’t really get it to go away. I had this most of the summer and so it would not have been safe for me to travel with all those health issues.”
Thankfully, Michelle said she’s feeling healthy again, adding, “I’m better now, everything feels better, but yeah, I was definitely struggling for a little bit.”
We’re so glad she’s doing better, and we know that Blake is going to continue to lead these sorts of conservation trips.
So hopefully Michelle can join him on one in the future!
