Katie Thurston Marries Jeff Arcuri in Surprise Wedding: ‘In Sickness and in Health’

Congratulations!
Bachelor Nation fans first met Katie Thurston on Season 25 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Season 17 of “The Bachelorette” as the leading lady.
Since her time on the shows, Katie found love with comedian Jeff Arcuri and the two got engaged last year.
As they were starting to plan their wedding, Katie revealed online that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and has been keeping fans updated about her experience ever since.
Now, the two have announced that they just got married in a surprise wedding over the weekend!

Katie took to Instagram to share some photos from their nuptials and wrote, “We said ‘I do’ on March twenty two 🤍.”
The newlyweds also opened up exclusively to US Weekly about their wedding day and what it meant to them.
Reflecting on why they decided to have an impromptu wedding, Katie said, “It was so sweet. Obviously, we were wanting to plan a wedding and there’s a lot of emotions that come in with chemo and the impact and the health and we don’t know what the next year looks like… And one night he said, ‘I want to show you that I still love you and that I’m here to stay. I’ll get married to you tomorrow.’ We flew our parents in from Michigan and Washington State. We got our marriage license and a friend is just gonna marry us.”
The Bachelor Nation star also shared that the intimate ceremony was held at their home with their dog Charlie by their sides, and the two plan on having a bigger wedding once she’s finished with her cancer treatments.

“It was this kind gesture of him saying, truly, in sickness and in health,” Katie expressed. “He is proving that he’s here to stay. He shows up every day and he does it in ways that just continue to surprise.”
Jeff chimed in, “I want to be able to be in the hospital with her and just be like, ‘My wife’s in there.’ There’s more power to that… I don’t want to be not with you for any of this.”
The former Bachelorette then revealed that the reason they got married on March 22 is because it was exactly one year since she first texted a clip of Jeff’s stand-up to her friends before ever meeting him, writing, “Future Husband,” and felt it was meant to be.
“At the time, I didn’t realize, but I was manifesting my actual future husband, so when we were looking at dates, I was like, ‘Wait, it has to be March 22,” she said.
We couldn’t be happier for Katie and Jeff, and we’re wishing them a lifetime of happiness together. Congratulations again to the newlyweds!
