Synopsis

Trista Rehn was an immediate standout to Bachelor Alex Michel on the first season of “The Bachelor.” Born in Indianapolis, Trista grew up an outgoing tomboy who excelled at soccer, swimming, and softball. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in exercise science. In 1995, Trista was accepted to the University of Miami, where she pursued her master’s degree and graduated with honors. Her passion for dancing led her to successfully audition for the NBA’s Miami Heat dancers. She spent two seasons on their squad while also maintaining a full-time job as a physical therapist at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Trista kicked off her journey as the first Bachelorette during a cocktail party with 25 excited and eager suitors in Los Angeles. As she got to know the men, they traveled to exciting locations in Palm Springs, San Diego, Vail, New York City, San Francisco, Flagstaff, and Cabo San Lucas.

Trista brought her final two suitors to her parents’ home in St. Louis for her finale. It was there that handsome 28-year-old firefighter Ryan Sutter won Trista’s heart and dropped to one knee. Trista accepted Ryan’s proposal and the two were married December 6, 2003.

Trista and Ryan live in Vail with their two children, Max and Blakesley.
