The Bachelor - Season 1
Synopsis
The first Bachelor in the franchise was Alex Michel, a true adventurer in every sense of the word. Born in Charlottesville, Virginia, 31-year-old Alex lived in a number of cities across the United States. In high school, he was the valedictorian, student body president, and captain of a state championship swim team. He graduated with honors from Harvard University and was a member of the varsity swimming and water polo teams. Prior to earning an MBA at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 1998, Alex worked at a successful Internet company. Most recently, he worked as a management consultant to several major corporations.
Alex’s journey as the first Bachelor kicked off in Los Angeles, where he met 25 captivating women, all excited about the adventure ahead. Throughout the journey, Alex and the women traveled to beautiful locations in Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, New York City, Lake Tahoe, and Kona, Hawaii.
After bringing his final two women to Dallas to meet his parents, Alex’s journey as the Bachelor ended when, after returning to Los Angeles, he declared his love for 23-year-old Amanda Marsh, an event planner from Chanute, Kansas. The two entered into an exclusive relationship while overlooking the world-famous Malibu sunset.
