Carly Waddell Says New Music is 'Actually in the Works' for 2021: 'I'm Super Excited'
She’s making it happen! Carly Waddell took to Instagram on Wednesday to share her goals for 2021, revealing that recording new music is at the top of her list.
“Took some time today to finally write down my 2021 goals. Whenever I write something down I feel like I have more accountability to actually make things happen,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself, holding a pen above an open journal as she appears deep in thought. “Do y’all feel that way? ONE of my goals which I’m SUPER excited about is NEW MUSIC!”
The “Bachelor” Season 19 alum and singer added, “And that one is actually in the works so we are starting out right! What are some of yalls goals this year?!??”

It wasn’t long before notable Bachelor Nation figures expressed their excitement about Carly’s forthcoming tunes in the comments section of her post.
“Yesssss music. I love when you sing,” wrote former Bachelorette and budding pop star Kaitlyn Bristowe, who released her second single, “Good for Somebody,” in October.
Meanwhile, Kendall Long applauded Carly’s decision to list out her intentions. “I’ve been writing down my goals as well!” the taxidermy enthusiast commented. “So helpful to just get it out on paper.”
On December 14, Carly posted a touching note on Instagram, explaining how she lost sight of her passion for music.
“Hey guys! It feels like a haven’t sang for you in years!!! Some of you don’t even know I’ve been professionally singing since I was in middle school!” wrote the musician, who released her “Dream Train” EP in 2019.
Carly went on to say that her singing aspirations took a backseat over the last few years, during which motherhood has taken most of her focus.
“Well, I guess I sorta lost myself in motherhood, and while that is the most amazing gift, I sorta forgot my own self,” she continued. “I just want you guys to know I’m going to be singing more, and sharing that part of my soul with you again! I’ve missed it so much!”
The mom of two shares daughter Bella, 2, and son Charlie, 13 months, with husband Evan Bass, whom she announced a separation from on December 23.
The Nashville, Tennessee-based pair met on Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and continued an on-again, off-again relationship over the course of the season. They got engaged at the end of their season and returned Season 4 to have Chris Harrison officiate their wedding, which took place June 17, 2017.
Just before New Year’s Eve, Carly thanked Bachelor Nation for their support amid her split from Evan.
“Hey guys, I just wanted to take a quick second and say thank you to everybody who’s reached out. So many of you have gone through the same thing or are going through the same thing,” she said during a candid Instagram Story video. “And it really means a lot. It really does. I’ve obviously never been through a divorce before, so I don’t really understand how this process works. I’m kind of learning as I go. Every new little thing just sucks. It’s hard and I appreciate you, so thank you.”
