Clare Crawley Has 'Emotional' Reunion with Her Mother After Months Apart Due to COVID-19
At last. Clare Crawley took to Instagram on Thursday to let fans know that she was finally able to spend time her mom, Lilia, after an extended period apart due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
“I’m so thankful to be able to see my mom in person now,” the former Bachelorette wrote alongside a photo showing her hand intertwined with her mother’s. “I get so emotional because this time is precious and I know means everything to both of us, especially as her mind is slipping away and her body is getting weaker.”
As Clare has explained in the past, Lilia struggles with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She lives in a care facility in Sacramento, California, the same city in which her daughter currently resides.
“I try and sing and laugh to add a little sunshine to her day, even if it’s only for the 20 minutes they allow. I love it,” Clare continued in her post. “She has good days and bad, just like we all do. Well today I couldn’t hide my hard day. A mother always knows. Without saying a word, she reached in her pocket and pulled out this tissue and just squeezed my hand.”

Later, Bachelor Nation stars flooded Clare’s comments section with supportive messages.
“This just melted my heart,” her ex-fiancé Benoit Beauséjour-Savard wrote, to which Clare replied with a series of red heart emojis.
“Love you,” Lesley Murphy commented, while Becca Kufrin shared several sparkling pink heart emojis.
Added Olivia Caridi, “Love you sweet[heart].”
The long-awaited mother-daughter reunion came two months after Lilia delivered her stamp of approval to Clare’s fiancé, Dale Moss. The blonde beauty accepted an early proposal from the handsome NFL player-turned-model on “The Bachelorette” Season 16. Dale — who lives in New York City — flew to California to be with Clare after their engagement aired in November. It wasn’t long before he met Lilia and left a lasting impression.
“He sure has [met Lilia] and she can’t stop staring at him with the biggest smile!” Clare wrote at the time during an Instagram Story Q&A. “She loves him sooo much, and asks about him when he’s not there with me.”
