Bachelorette Michelle Young Kicks Off April Fools' Day by Pranking Her Students
Getting into the spirit of April Fools’ Day, Michelle Young decided to prank her students. The schoolteacher headed over to her Instagram Story on Thursday to let Bachelor Nation in on her practical joke.
The “Bachelor” Season 25 star — who will lead Season 18 of “The Bachelorette” this fall — shared a photo of a projection on her classroom’s whiteboard describing the faux holiday “National Standing Day.”
“Did you know that humans spend 87% of their lives sitting down? National Standing Day was put in place to encourage people to get up and move their bodies!” Michelle’s message read. “Standing during the day can help lower blood pressure, promote bone and muscle strength, and help prevent osteoporosis when older. Let’s STAND together for this outstanding day!”
In an accompanying caption, she wrote, “Are we ever too old for April Fools?”
Elsewhere, Michelle posted video footage of her classroom showing clusters of desks without any chairs to take a seat while learning. “They are not going to be happy about celebrating ‘standing day,’” she added.
Just weeks ago, the Minnesota native opened up about her job as an educator during an interview with Becca Kufrin and guest co-host Tayshia Adams on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast. According to Michelle, her young pupils have been impressed by her foray into reality TV.
“When I came back from [the ‘After the Final Rose’ taping], I was completely interrogated. They had found out and they had all of the questions in the world. They were like, ‘Ms. Young, why didn’t you tell us?’ And I was just like, ‘Oh, no!’” she recounted.
“They think it’s pretty cool. Their families or their parents watch and have spoken highly of me,” Michelle added. “They’re a little starstruck of me sometimes — but when I give them homework, I whip them back into shape!”
