Chris Watson & Bri Stauss Look Back on Winning 'Listen to Your Heart' 1 Year Later
Chris Watson and Bri Stauss couldn’t be more grateful for their time on “The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart.”
Both musicians took to Instagram on Tuesday to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the finale, for which they delivered a show-stopping duet performance of Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” in front of Jewel, Taye Diggs, Rita Wilson, and beloved Bachelor Nation couple Kaitlyn Bristowe and Jason Tartick.
Chris and Bri were later named the winning couple of the series’ inaugural season, triumphing over runners-up Trevor Holmes and Jamie Weintraub.
“Today marks one year from the @listentoyourheartabc finale! To say this show changed my life would be an understatement. I’m so grateful for the love and support I’ve been able to experience this last year with @bachelornation,” he wrote. “Thanks for loving on me! Beyond grateful for every relationship that has come from my time on the show.”
Chris went on to thank the fans who came to know his talent via the series. “We received countless messages and videos where you incorporated our music into your lives,” he wrote, later reflecting on the “exhilarating” and “exhausting” year he’s had. “I’m not exactly sure why, but this year has flown by faster than any other,” he noted. “I experienced and learned so many new things at once.”
For her part, Bri also explained how her “life changed forever” because of “Listen to Your Heart.”
“I won the finale of @listentoyourheartabc and nothing has been the same since. I never dreamed I would have the opportunity to do something like this, and it was the best decision I ever made. Thank you @listentoyourheartabc for changing my life for the better, and for introducing me to some of my best friends that I’ll have forever- cast, crew, fans, and @bachelornation," she wrote. “Thank you for supporting me, I love you all so much.”
Following their victory, Chris and Bri dropped a self-titled album with 10 songs, including their debut hit “Found You.” In December, they released a Christmas LP called “Wrapped Under the Tree,” which featured their cheeky single “Santa Claus Stole My Girlfriend.”
Despite their romantic and musical success, Chris and Bri announced their decision to split in January.
“With deep admiration and respect for one another, we have decided to end our relationship and go our separate ways,” the pair told “E! News” in a joint statement. “We will always look back on our journey with deep fondness, and will continue to support each other both personally and professionally.”
