Tia Booth took to Instagram on Thursday to share a hopeful health update about her father, Kenny, and his battle with colon cancer.
“Over the next few weeks social media will be full of Father’s Day posts so I wanted to share mine a little early in honor of my Dad’s report from his oncologist,” the Bachelor Nation star wrote alongside a photo of herself posing with her dad at a restaurant. “In cased you missed my story, my dad found out his stage 4 colon cancer is shrinking in multiple places!! Praise JESUS.”
Tia went on to describe her relationship with her father. “I feel so lucky to be this guy’s baby girl,” she wrote. “He’s treated me like a princess and held me to the highest standard since birth. My goal in life is to make him & my mama proud and I believe I’ve done so.”
The franchise alum thanked her followers for the flood of supportive messages she’s received since revealing Kenny’s diagnosis in April: “I’ve gotten thousands of messages from y’all sharing stories of family members battling cancer & stories of loss from cancer, (lots of daddies too), and the number one theme is ‘cherish your time.’”
Tia continued, “I hate that this God awful diagnosis is what made me realize how precious time is, but I’ll never take a text, conversation, or moment for granted again.”
The Arkansas native — who now lives in Nashville, Tennessee — concluded her message with encouraging words for those similarly impacted by cancer and sweet sentiments for Kenny.
“My heart is with all of you who may be struggling with this upcoming day,” she wrote. “Happy Father’s Day to you, Papa Bear!! Looking forward to the next 50 of em! I love you to the moon!”
Tia’s Bachelor Nation family wasted no time flooding her comments section with positive reactions.
“Such incredible news, let’s keep em shrinking! Sending so much [love] to you [and] your family,” wrote Becca Kufrin, while Kaitlyn Bristowe left a series of red heart emojis.
In a follow-up post on her Instagram Story, Tia expressed more gratitude for the latest wave of reassuring words and prayers sent her way.
“Also, THANK YOU x10000 for all of the continued prayers and love and messages!” she wrote, referencing a previous post on her Story about her father’s improving health. “I had almost 4,000 replies on this story yesterday and it just makes my heart explode. Love you guys.”
Sending our best to Tia, Kenny, and their loved ones.
