Tayshia Defends Blake Moynes' Return to 'The Bachelorette' for a Shot with Katie: 'Love Is the End Goal'
Tayshia Adams stopped by “Good Morning America” this week to chat with Michael Strahan about all the drama that’s occurred so far on Katie Thurston’s Season 17 of “The Bachelorette.”
Tayshia spoke specifically about the shocking return of her ex Blake Moynes — and defended his decision to come back to the series after competing for her (and Clare Crawley’s) final rose on “The Bachelorette” Season 16 in 2020.
“You know, it’s difficult for both the guys and the Bachelorette. But at the same time, love is the end goal,” explained Tayshia, who co-hosted Season 17 alongside Kaitlyn Bristowe. “Sometimes you have to take those uncomfortable risks.”
As Bachelor Nation witnessed during Week 4, Tayshia told Katie that someone from her past wanted to see if he had a shot with the reigning franchise lead. Katie’s eyes lit up when she discovered that the mysterious suitor was Blake — whom she ultimately asked to stay and then asked him on a romantic one-on-one date.
“I just know that he has a really good heart,” Tayshia said, explaining why she thought the handsome Canadian might be a good fit for Katie. “He’s genuine, he’s sincere, and he is ready for marriage.”
She continued, “And that’s really what Katie was looking for. She said from day one, looking at me, ‘I want to get engaged at the end of this.’ And Blake had all the right intentions, so I figured that they would be a great match.”
Tayshia — whose own “Bachelorette” journey ended successfully with an engagement to Zac Clark — went on to say that Katie has excelled in the role.
“She’s done a really good job navigating all of the drama and weeding out some of the guys that are just not there for the right reasons,” she said, referring to such polarizing contestants as Cody, Karl, and Thomas. “But she’s in for quite a loop. She’s doing a good job, though.”
Tayshia elaborated, “She’s really confident and strong in herself. She knows who she is. I think that she is definitely hitting things head on and she doesn’t like to just leave things out in the open. She wants to get answers — and she’s doing a really good job.”
Asked who she thinks Katie has a “strong connection” with, Tayshia replied, “You know what? I think Greg and Michael A. I see some sparks there, don’t you?”
She added, “You saw some chemistry there [between Katie and Blake], I’m sure. It’s going to get good.”
