Connor Brennan stopped by “Bachelor Happy Hour” to chat with Becca Kufrin and guest co-host Tayshia Adams about his heartbreaking split from Katie Thurston on “The Bachelorette” Season 17.

Following a delightful one-on-one — which included a double date with Season 17 co-host Kaitlyn Bristowe and fiancé Jason Tartick — Katie made her way to Connor’s hotel room to call it quits on their relationship, acknowledging a missing spark every time they kissed.

“She walked in and we sat down and I just saw her crying and, whatever it was, I wanted to make her feel better,” Connor recounted. “And then you saw that moment where she started saying some really, really kind things about me, really deeply genuine things. And then, pretty quickly, I was like, ‘Oh, that’s what this is. OK.’”

The Nashville-based math teacher and musician continued, “I could tell she was dreading saying the words, ‘I have to send you home’ or ‘I have to break up with you,’ or whatever it was. And that’s why I was like, ‘I know what this is. It’s OK. I understand. Everything’s OK. It’s going to be OK.’ And I just wanted her to know that, because just seeing how sad it was making her was breaking my heart, too.”

Connor also reflected on his polarizing onscreen kisses, which captured fans’ attention for the heavy hand gestures and body movements involved.

“Looking back, I looked like a f--king maniac. Every kiss, I couldn’t watch,” he said, recoiling in embarrassment. “I was like, ‘Dude, what are you doing? Calm down, take a breath.’ I looked so, so crazy. What I will say, in my defense, is I was also so nervous every time we kissed, and I think that probably had something to do with it.”

As viewers witnessed on Monday night’s “Men Tell All” special, Connor redeemed himself when a smitten — and very bold — audience member by the name of Tara Kelly interrupted the taping to reveal her crush on Connor and then passionately made out with the franchise star.

“I have her number. We FaceTimed,” Connor told Tayshia and Becca of his burgeoning romance with Tara, a singer-songwriter who lives in Los Angeles. “The great thing is she’s also a musician and she comes to Nashville a lot. So, I invited her to Nashville to take her on a date at some point.”
